I first saw this recipe on Instagram by Pinch of Yum and was instantly intrigued.
While I don’t typically love yogurt, the way it was presented was immediately appetizing! I wanted to see if it really tasted like a cookie.
So I did some taste testing ๐.
And while I can’t claim it tastes exactly like a chocolate chip cookie, I can promise you it’s delicious! I love it so much that it’s become a regular snack around here.
With over 20 grams of protein, I’m more than happy to eat the entire serving!
I’ve made a few tweaks to the original recipe and the flavors and layers just go together oh so perfectly. I have eaten it as a lunch alternative, an afternoon snack and even a post-dinner “I’m still hungry and want something sweet” option.
Here are a few tips for your own Yogurt Cookie Bowl:
- I use 2% greek yogurt as the base for this bowl. I highly recommend you avoid non fat yogurt as it’s full of additives and added sugar and takes away the purity of the yogurt itself. I then add my favorite coconut yogurt as the additional yogurt add in, but you can always just use more plain greek yogurt or a flavor of your choice!
- While I use almond butter, you can use any nut butter you prefer.
- I use a paleo style granola as it works well for me, but you can use any granola you like.
- I personally like to keep all the ingredients separate in the bowl so I can swipe my spoon through each layer and savor them. My daughter, on the other hand, mixed everything together in one bowl before eating it. You do you ๐.
Promise me you’ll make this soon! It’s a delicious and delightful way to make yogurt into more than just yogurt.
