Eat Well – October 2019

When I was going through infertility, I learned everything I could about proper nutrition.

I was reminded about how important our food choices really are!

They can either lead to inflammation or healing in the body. It’s up to us to make the right choices.

Once we decided to start IVF, I was giving myself injections every single night for a few months. It was an emotional and tiring time and I wanted something comforting on those evenings to soothe my soul.

I knew I needed to chose healthy ingredients, and this Detox Tea was born.

This recipe is simple yet means so much to me. It served me through some very trying times and I continue to drink it 3-4 nights a week because of the comfort it brings me.

I also know how powerful the ingredients are for my health!

Whenever I feel a cold coming on, this becomes a staple in my diet for a week.

It’s also a great thing to start your day with! It’s a perfect way to get your metabolism and digestion firing in the morning.

 

The turmeric gives anti-inflammatory effects. Apple cider vinegar is a powerful anti fungal. Lemon is full of Vitamin C and maca is known as a mood enhancer, energy improver and hormone balancer.

I encourage you to give this Detox Tea a try and incorporate it into your own healthy diet!

Detox Tea

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon turmeric (use 1/2 if it's new to you)
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • dash cayenne

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients except water together in a mug. Pour hot water over ingredients and mix well. Serve.
